Women Should Consider These Three Things First When Getting Advice
Just like everyone else, young women need help from time to time in dealing with various aspects of life. Because women are quite emotional and sentimental when it comes to handling things, it’s no surprise that they usually turn to people around them to get help in the form of advice or tips. Unfortunately, not all advice, tips, and opinions are pure and honest. There always will be instances when you seek the advice of someone who you trust and end up realizing that the advice you got had a concealed motive in it.
So if you’re someone who wishes to get some advice about life one of these days, be sure you consider these three things first:
1 – First things first, figure out why you’re in need of advice in the first place.
The crucial part of it is being specifically sure that you’re not capable of deciding on a particular issue or problem yourself. So whenever you figure that out, that’s the time you make the realization that the only possible means of handling whatever it is that bothers you is by seeking someone else’s advice. One of the things you should be avoiding is seeking advice for the purpose of sharing to anyone your troubles or issues. It’s a common occurrence in social media and you definitely don’t want to be labeled as someone who possesses victim-mentality attitude. While many women do it and feel there’s nothing wrong about it, you should know that there’s nothing pleasant about the addiction to receiving attention through sympathy. Hence, you must make it a point to seek advice for the reason that there’s value in it.
2 – The next factor to consider is the person to whom you want to get the advice.
While you probably are more concerned about getting quality advice, you also would want to make sure you’re getting it from a trustworthy individual. Some are more than willing to listen to what you have to say but only a few will give their genuine advice or opinion. Be smart in selecting the people you seek advice because some of them might only be willing to listen so that they can hear what you have to say and then talk about it to other people. Aside from your most trusted friends, you also can get advice from professionals such as therapists, psychologists, and psychics, all of whom are experts in giving advice about life in general.
3 – Finally, figure out what constitutes good advice.
You see, not all advice and tips are true to the heart, which means some of them don’t really have value. Even if you need help from other people to act on something, it still is important that you at least know if acting on it based on the advice will produce something positive.
